UK Embassy and VN Ministry of Health invited VinBrain as the only Vietnamese company to speak on AI for Medicine and Medical Diagnostic topic at VN-UK Healthcare Innovation conference

On Friday, 22nd November 2019, the conference “Vietnam-British collaboration in Healthcare Innovation” was held at Caravelle hotel, Ho Chi Minh city. This event was organized by Department for International Trade, British Embassy in Vietnam and Vietnam Ministry of Health. VinBrain was honored to be one of the Vietnamese companies to present at this event.


The conference started with an opening speech from Mr Ian Gibbons, British Consul General in Vietnam, who shared the development and achievements of the digital transformation program of UK National Health Service (NHS). The keynote was delivered by Professor Doctor Trần Quý Tường, Director General of Information technology department from Vietnam Ministry of Health presented the government directions and strategies in applying and developing smart applications for healthcare in 2019 -2025.

The second part of the conference were highly anticipated, with the introductions of AI healthcare companies in both UK and Vietnam. UK companies like Babylon Health, Cambridge Heartwear, Incuna and iDoc.ai were presenting their services and product offerings. Mr. Trương Quốc Hùng, VinBrain’s CEO, presented his company AI Doctor Assistant and was the only Vietnamese AI tech company at the conference. He shared VinBrain’s mission and challenges in solving problems in medical image diagnostic. So far, VinBrain has continuously achieved meaningful targets such as by attracting talents with variety of expertise from Microsoft USA, Adobe USA, Google USA and Amazon UK; filing its first patent in golden dataset collection methodology for medical images as well as building strategic alliance partnerships with Vinmec hospital and University California of San Diego. These partnerships would lay out a foundation for VinBrain for R&D and its roadmap. VinBrain AI Doctor Assistant will be distributed for free of charge to all hospitals in Vietnam once it is shipped by 2020.

At the end of the conference, Professor Doctor Tường commented to UK embassy senior officers that after VinBrain’s presentation, other UK company speakers had come on stage to show their admiration for Vietnamese people’s intelligence, capability and persistent; and how Vingroup and VinBrain had been the leading forces in creating building block strategies to drive changes and develop advance technology capabilities in Vietnam.
